Local partner organisations
The close cooperation with our local partner organisations SEED (Society for Educational & Environmental Development) and AICJA (All India Crime & Investigate Journalists Association) enables us to continue supporting and monitoring the project in our absence.
Our local project coordinator Madhumita Bannerjee was born in India. She has a Masters in sociology with a focus on psychology. She contributes a lot of expertise and professional experience, which she gained in part through her work for UNICEF. She is also very aware of the issues of the larger cities, as well as those of the rural communities.
A local all-rounder has been assigned to support her and he visits the project on a daily basis. He is familiar with the way of thinking and with the culture of the village residents and is therefore able to judge any problems that may arise and act appropriately.
We have hired five class teachers and one teaching assistant for the lessons, aswell as three cooks for the daily lunch and the cleaning of the school building.
All staff are continuously trained in child protection, hygiene and the code of behaviour in problem cases.
